Being Aware.

It's common to see that many consumers have shifted behaviours to becoming more aware of their behaviours and its affect to the earth and environment. From changes to the use of single-use plastic bags in stores to popular purchases of reusable and sustainable goods, we are slowly but surely making changes to improving the sustainability of our earth.


You might be wondering how this all ties in with anything marketing related. Well, now that consumers look for brands and companies who are environmentally aware, make effort and are similar to activists of the world of products, it can be helpful for businesses to reflect on their own practices.


As consumers, we tend to look for products that are easily accessible, things that look good and make us feel good. What better way than purchasing from brands that also help the environment. I want to take a look at one brand in particular, who has built their image and popularity solely on the philosophy of wanting to do better by our planet.

For those who may not be familiar with this brand, let me introduce you to frank green, who is passionate about something well-designed, stylish and really convenient. Now I might be a little biased when I say, yes their products are of good quality! Yes, the products are super stylish! And using a reusable cup, like what frank green offers, personally makes me feel better about not always using disposable coffee cups.

So what makes a brand like frank green so successful? Consumers like brands that are aware, brands that make effort and brands that stay up-to-date. And I think frank green is a great example of that.

frank green understands the impact of single-use coffee cups and has a passion to change those behaviours we have instilled into our routines. They make efforts to make sure their practices stay true to their aim, through developing products that are also recyclable at the end of the product life. As well as that, the actual packaging the products are shipped and sent in are also totally recyclable. How great is that?


frank green isn't just aware of the environmental impacts of their business, but they are also aware of the consumers. Knowing consumers live busy lives, frank green adapts their products to fit in with their lifestyles. Offering customers with a wide range of styles and options to fit the buyers personality, identity and necessity. This balance of being aware of the environment and the customers needs is what I think, one of the things that adds up to frank green's major popularity and adds great value to the brand's image.

As consumers, we definitely understand that for some businesses it can be hard to flip dramatics switches in becoming totally eco-friendly. However it can even be the small changes to becoming more aware and knowledgable that can make a big difference.

Thanks for reading! And yes you're right with the electric car example. Sometimes bringing a new eco-friendly version of something that already exists can be difficult, but like you said with Tesla, the constant developing and awareness of what the consumer needs as well has brought about some really stylish vehicles that fit what the market needs.

Great work with your latest piece tackling the issues facing our environment, waste and sustainability!


Frank Green is definitely a company that has created a staple brand based around its reusable cups!


It is important that these brands not only focus on the environment but also what people want. This brings me to the example of the first electric cars, they all looked horrible. Why should something that is supposed to help the environment be ugly? Couple of years later, we saw Tesla with cars come out and challenge that old concept!
